When it comes to love, common interests are nice, but common disinterests are even better.

As a lifelong dog hater (she's allergic and thinks they're gross), Emily knew she had to take a chance on Jon when he unapologetically stated on his Hinge Profile that he didn't like dogs (he's not allergic, he just doesn't like them 😍).

We met for drinks, stood around a barrel because there weren't any tables, and had an okay enough time for a second date. The second date was more than okay, and five years, one pandemic, five dead mice, ten countries, 45 seasons of Survivor, and absolutely no dogs later, we're ready to say, “I do.”

We're getting married on April 13th which is our one year anniversary of getting engaged in Cartagena, Colombia, so you could say 13 is our lucky number.
